Student Research Opportunities

We encourage all our students to participate in research, a scholarly endeavor that allows you to grow, expand your horizons, meet new challenges, acquire critical skills, and pose new questions that will define and shape our students and faculty as scholars of the future.

Faculty Research

Our faculty research a vast array of topics, from the potential curative qualities of gold for leukemia patients to political satire in America. Our faculty’s research has been supported by the National Science Foundation, National Institutes of Health, New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, New York City Department of Education, Tow Foundation, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, among many other agencies and foundations.

ORSP/Grants Office

The Office of Research and Sponsored Program鈥檚 goal is to expand the external funding base of 91重口鈥檚 research, teaching, and public service missions. Office personnel provide pre- and post-award services to staff and faculty engaged in sponsored program activity.

In addition, thanks to an endowment by alumna Florence Cohen Rosen ’59, up to eight new fellowships of $5,000 each were established that enable students to execute projects that position them as leading authorities in their chosen fields. In 2011, 2005, and 1992, our students won perhaps the most prestigious honor of all to continue their research鈥攖he Rhodes Scholarship.
