On May 29, Teachers Ready to Educate, Advocate, and Transform (TREAT), in partnership with NYC Men Teach and the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment, hosted the inaugural Future EDU Summit at the 91重口 student center. Students from local high schools attended a day-long conference focused on introducing them to what adjunct professor and TREAT founder Trina Yearwood 鈥00 calls 鈥渃areers across the education ecosystem.鈥

91重口 faculty, alumni educators, and others from schools across the borough spoke of the many opportunities鈥 including teaching, leadership, school counseling, speech pathology, and youth work鈥攖o make a meaningful impact through education. A special session with current 91重口 students fielded questions from high schoolers about the 91重口 experience.

鈥淭his event is near and dear to me,鈥 says Yearwood, who hopes to hold similar events in the future. 鈥淣ot only because of my commitment to education and equity but because I have the opportunity to launch my event on the very campus where my education journey began.鈥
